Cindy (Xinyi) Wu

Cindy Xinyi Wu.jpeg

Cindy (Xinyi) Wu is a Chinese-born, London-based jewellery designer whose practice moves beyond the idea of jewellery as ornament, treating it instead as wearable sculpture that sits in close dialogue with the body, emotion and narrative. She graduated from the BA Jewellery Design course at Central Saint Martins and is currently studying Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art. Having previously studied visual arts in the United States, she brings a broad artistic background and an interdisciplinary perspective to her work.

Wu’s practice is rooted in both traditional craftsmanship and experimental making. By combining innovative materials with established jewellery techniques, she challenges conventional definitions of adornment and expands the expressive potential of contemporary jewellery. Her work often explores the relationship between material, form and bodily experience, creating pieces that are at once sculptural, tactile and conceptually driven.

Her work has been exhibited internationally across Germany, China, Spain, the United Kingdom, Hungary, the Netherlands and Slovenia, including presentations at Munich Jewellery Week, London Design Festival, the National Museum of Decorative Arts and the Museo Cerralbo in Madrid. Her projects have also been featured by international and Chinese media, including Dezeen, China Gems and Harper’s Bazaar. Through her practice, Wu remains committed to pushing the boundaries of jewellery design and contributing to the ongoing development of the field.
